The Bushland at Risk map documents bushland in the Shoalhaven and Eurobodalla at risk of being cleared for urban development and infrastructure.
Since 2015, more than 620 hectares of bushland has been cleared for urban development and infrastructure across this area - that is more than double the size of the Sydney CBD.
As much as 80% of South Coast forests were burnt in the 2019/20 fires meaning it has never been more important to protect our local bushland as refuge for local species and to aid the recovery of our local forests.
This map shows hundreds more hectares of bushland are subject to development approvals and proposals across the region. It provides information to the local community about sites at risk and links people to local campaigns trying to protect our precious bushland.
