Sydney Marine Park
Sydney Harbour and its surrounds are an unique and iconic environment, much-loved both at home and overseas. It has significant environmental, recreational, heritage, economic and cultural values.
But Sydney’s waters are increasingly under threat from a range of pressures including from pollution impacts, introduced species, habitat loss and a high density of recreational fishers.
We urgently need a Sydney Marine Park to protect the beaches, coastlines and marine life we love, for this and future generations.
It's time to protect Sydney's Harbour, ocean, beaches, coastline and precious marine life forever.
1. Create a Sydney Marine Park to be protected as a lasting legacy under the Marine Estate Management Act 2014.
2. Protect in the Marine Park an area from the northern end of Bouddi National Park on the Central Coast to the southern end of the Royal National Park near Stanwell Park, with zoning for mixed uses.
3. Act urgently on climate change to give the Sydney Marine Park and its unique marine creatures the best chance to survive and thrive.
